Joining the Team

Joining the Harvard University Cycling Association is easy! The club is full of people of all ages, abilities, riding styles, and goals. We are just a bunch of people who love riding bikes, and everyone is welcome to join us!

Why You Should Join

  • The 2011-2012 racing team at our spring BBQ.
    Fun & fitness. In addition to the fitness benefits of riding your bicycle, it's always more fun to ride with a group. You can chat, joke, make new friends, and enjoy yourself, all while getting an amazing workout.
    Riders at any level can benefit from the knowledge, experience, and comraderie of our diverse membership and numerous social events.
  • Collegiate racing. Instead of the high tension and flaring tempers often evident at traditional USAC races, collegiate racing has a fun and welcoming atmosphere. With Intro to Racing categories in every event, every race weekend, and people who genuinely enjoy racing, even in the unpredictable New England spring, race weekends are an indescribably fun adventure.
  • Learn something new. With a large number of students on the team, both undergrad and graduate, and the occasional Harvard professor, you're certain to learn something new every day, whether about cycling, science, or the arts.
  • Be a part of something larger. We provide many leadership opportunities for students, both on and off the bike. By riding with us, you can help support our dual mission of promoting cycling at all levels around Harvard while also providing student cyclists with opportunities to develop the leadership and organizational skills so valuable in a professional career.
  • Financial benefits. Joining HUCA can give you access to a variety of cycling-related benefits. Membership in HUCA provides discounts on our cycling clothing, at several local bike shops, and on professional-caliber cycling equipment sponsorship deals. How to Join

Joining HUCA is easy! Sign up for the mailing list, check out the calendar to see when we'll be riding, and come out with your bike and helmet. We would love to ride with you. Formal membership costs start as low as $40 and can get you access to some of our discounts and sponsorship benefits.
In September, we will hold an introductory meeting in which we will talk about what the club does, sell membership, discounted cycling clothing from previous years, and answer any questions that you might have. Even if you're not sure about joining, you should come to the meeting! If you absolutely cannot attend, please feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have.
